PlayStation is a popular gaming console used by billions of gamers. However, most players come across sign in failed errors often. This is not very pleasant. The main reasons for the sign in error are wrong login credentials, PlayStation Network under maintenance, changed or banned IP address, and errors from ISP. You can fix this issue quickly in various ways.

Enable Automatic Login

1. On your PlayStation, go to Settings and click the User option.

Verify PSN account

Reset your PSN Password

Sign in error might occur because of the blocked IP address. To resolve this, you have to change the DNS settings. Here are the steps.

1. Move to Settings >> Network.

2. Click on Internet Connection Setup.

3. Choose Use WiFi to connect to the network and click on Custom.

4. Further, choose the WiFi network from the list and set the IP Address Settings as Automatic.

5. Choose Do Not Specify from the DHCP Host Name screen.

6. Click on Manual from DNS Settings and enter the Google DNS given below and tap the Next button.

  • Primary DNS – 8.8.8.8
  • Secondary DNS – 8.8.4.4

7. Under MTU Settings, choose Manual and then set Manual and then set the MTU value 1456.

8. Next, choose Do Not Use under Proxy Server and click Test Internet Connection.

9. Finally, sign in with your account and check if the error occurs.

Rebuild Database

The PS database stores all the data and files. You can rebuild the database to organize the files again.

1. Turn off your PlayStation and hold the Power button for 8 seconds.

2. Connect the controller to PS using the charging cable and press the PS button.

3. Scroll down to the Rebuilt Database option and click on X.

Set the MTU Settings to Manual

MTU settings might cause sign in errors, so you can change the MTU settings manually to solve the problem.

1. Go to Settings on your console.

2. Move to the Network option and choose the Set Up Internet Connection.

3. Choose Use WiFi.

4. Configure your connection to the Custom option to enable the Manual option.

5. Click Automatic IP address and then the Do Not Specify option.

6. Choose the Automatic option for the DNS settings.

7. Set the MTU settings to manual.

8. Enter 1473 in the MTU value option.

9. Tap on Next and then choose the Do Not Use Proxy Server.

Remove your PSN Account

If you cannot sign in to your PlayStation account, your account might have been corrupted. To avoid this, you can remove your PS account and add it again to the console.

1. Open Settings and click on Login Settings.

2. Scroll down and click User Management.

5. To add your profile again, click Open New User.

6. Tap Create a User and accept the terms and conditions.
